Email from CJ:

Dear Ones…

Yesterday (15 Mar 09) at 12:45pm CST, Jesus brought my little sister Sarah home to be with Him.  Allow me to speak of the mercy of our great God:

Sarah was surrounded by her husband Joshua, her children, Eliana, Samuel, Aaron, William and Madisen, and her parents, John and Kay, who were worshipping the Lord singing “Blessed be the Name of the Lord” and “Alleluia…for our Lord God Almighty Reigns” as she began that greatest of journeys for which we all wait…

God got my Dad and Mom to the hospital with Sarah & Josh’s kids safely and in time to be with her, and gave Sarah words of comfort for her children before He took her…

God strengthened Sarah’s spirit and shortened her suffering from metastasized melanoma, which had become quite severe, and ushered her into His presence so peacefully…

Obviously, the joy we have in knowing that her struggle with suffering, sin and death is now over forever is tempered by the gaping hole in our hearts and lives which Sarah leaves behind.  Your prayers for Joshua and the children are priceless right now—such comfort, wisdom and provision for the days ahead is needed.  Pray also for my parents, John and Kay, who have had the difficult task of saying goodbye to both Mom’s mother, Ilene Drescher, and Sarah in the last three months.  Pray for us all as a family, that God would show His most perfect plan for the days ahead when, at present, we have difficulty just making it through the day at hand.  Pray most of all that God’s name would be glorified, and that many would come to faith in Jesus Christ and “hope [which] does not put us to shame” [Romans 5:1-ff] through the testimony of Sarah’s life and home-going.

Amy and I will be working in the coming hours to try and make travel arrangements for our family to fly back from Germany to Wisconsin to be with our family at this time.  We would appreciate your prayers for God’s direction and aid throughout this process.

Those of you who are interested to learn more about Sarah, about how to pray for Joshua and the family and to stay apprised of developments from this point forward can feel free to go to her CaringBridge website.  Please feel free to forward this message as well.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all…

Your Brother,

Christian

Personal Pages

You'll notice on the site that there is a Personal Pages section. The intention is for everyone to be able to create a personal page and put on it whatever you'd like. There are ways to post pictures (which is why there's no specific pictures section on the site), videos, slideshows, and all kinds of other stuff. So create a page and go nuts. That's your space to tell everyone what you're up to at the moment. No more character limit in the bios section to worry about.
